During her time as a missionary, Amanda worked in orphanages with abandoned babies, children and youth. Amanda gave abandoned babies attention, comforting them and teaching them to walk. Amanda worked with children and youth from struggling families, providing them with food and basic hygiene supplies and also assisting children with their homework and use of computers. Importantly, Amanda shared the gospel with the children and families through her visits and also through her leadership on youth camps. 

Following Amanda's return from Romania in 2010 Amanda planned to study at Sydney Mission Bible College and travelling to Cambodia for a short-term mission trip.
